Internet service providers have changed through the years. One of the more famous internet service provider is AOL and they are one of the biggest around, other real big players in the internet service provider industry is MSN, and NetZero. Through the last few years a lot of things have changed in this always changing industry. A few years back their use to be some free ISP, but they have gone away as they couldn’t make any inroads in this tough industry. Let’s take a look at some of the internet service providers.
Probably the biggest internet service provider is AOL. AOL has been a major player in the market and has the most subscribers, but in recent years have lost their foothold a little bit on being king of the internet. MSN has been making inroads into their customer base along with Earthlink. I’ve used both and I will tell you Earthlink is one of the finest internet service provider around. Their customer service is top notch and they deliver a great product. One of the two smaller ones who also have good service is Netzero and PeoplePc.com.
First I have used NetZero and they have improved their service a lot, as when I had them it was a bear to get online with them. That has been improved a lot and they are a viable option now. Another internet service provider is PeoplePC who relies on a very low cost, but they don’t sacrifice service as they have good customer service and a great product. Today’s internet providers are now entering a different arena as dial-up isn’t as popular as it was once. The smaller and free ISP took hits when broadband was introduced.
Out of all of the internet service providers it’s really hard to pick one as the best, for a number of reasons. Everyone has things that I like and others have things I like. As far as one ISP having everything I would say the closest to that will be Earthlink. The most important thing is customer service to me. When you have a problem, you want it answered. They resolve problems quickly. If I was choosing one, I would say Earthlink followed by AOL. For the most part though most internet service providers do a very good job.
