More and more people are switching their DSL connections and going with broadband cable. The main reason most people are going with broadband cable is because the prices are coming down and with the speed of cable it’s just a better value anymore. Cable connections are the future of the internet and the phone. Cable broadband is an emerging market that will continue to expand.
Broadband cable has a lot of upsides to it. Looking over the cable and you see instant on connection and less maintenance as you already run cable televison through the house so this is really just an extension of that. Internet phone is also through a cable connection and people are buying more internet phone connections as the price keeps going down. What’s the big difference between cable broadband vs DSL? It’s really simply that DSL uses a phone line while broadband uses a cable. The speeds are also very different. Cable usually only has two speeds, but they are a lot faster than DSL. Many people are removing their phone lines as the cell phone is becoming use as a home phone and most people rather pay one bill instead of two. This is a windfall for cable connections, but not for DSL community. Broadband cable will continue to grow as people realize that this is going to give them faster connections and fewer breakdowns. People are looking for ways to get things done a lot quicker as time is money and people rather spend more time with family than online all the time. The faster internet connection makes this possible. Businesses especially love broadband cable connections as they get so much more done and have less trouble than DSL or dial-up. In the time I’ve had a cable connection I really haven’t had a lot of down time, but I will admit something though is if it goes down you really have no way of knowing how long it will be down. For the most part though you don’t have to worry as it’s uptime I will be it close to 95-99 percent of the time. Broadband cable will continue to be the internet connection of choice until something better comes out with more speed and at the same prices broadband is at right now. The future looks very bright for broadband cable right now.
