If you can’t get broadband connections for your internet connection, don’t feel you are stuck in limbo, as satellite broadband has come to your rescue. Satellite broadband is internet connection that beams a signal to a dish that is installed at the subscribers residence. Let’s look at where this is used and how well it works. First satellite broadband is a lot faster than dial-up so if you have that than maybe this could work for you. Most of the time satellite broadband is used for rural subscribers as they don’t have the possibility of a regular broadband connection. Let’s take a look at satellite broadband a little closer.
Now looking at satellite broadband it does have several disadvantages that you should know about. First and foremost it’s not as fast as regular cable broadband. Many people think it is, but that is just not true at all. The problem and the reason it’s so slow is that the signal must travel so far and than back up so you can see why it’s not faster than cable broadband. It is faster than dial-up though. Most rural areas only have dial-up so satellite is an option that many people do consider. One other really big disadvantage of satellite broadband is the high cost. Many people don’t realize how costly it really is. People think it costs more but prices can run as high as a couple hundred dollars a month. Satellite broadband is really a last resort unless you have the money to spend. Broadband satellite is something I would only consider is DSL isn’t available and you really want a faster connection. I’m sure as the technology gets better the prices will go down and speeds will go up. Satellite broadband is fairly new and not used a lot so people will have to wait a few years before we see a lot of improvement from it. Hopefully you won’t have to use this until they get the bugs worked out in the system. I know for one I will stick to my cable connection and forget about satellite connections until they get it right. I will keep my eye on it though s this could be the future of internet connections. If you have satellite broadband than I’m sure the future will get better for you as they are working on it to make it better. It just takes time like anything else in life.
